The Tancook Island Museum

Proprietor and artisan Hillary Dionne is a self-taught photographer with a passion for all things natural and artistic. The gallery walls display many unedited and unenhanced digital images of Tancook Island and vicinity … captured moments in time.

The room that the photo gallery is in was renovated using logs and planks that washed up on the beaches after storms. Decorated with fish nets, buoys, lobster traps and rope, this room has the feel of an old sea shanty.

Hillary’s photographs are available for purchase or simply to enjoy seeing as you browse through the gallery. The photo prices are very reasonable, ranging from $3 to $60 CDN, and the images are crisp and clear. Whether matted and framed, matted in a sleeve, on a blank card with an envelope or simply as is, Hillary’s photography is affordable and enjoyable to all.

Hillary is also photographer for world-renowned knitter Lucy Neatby. Lucy has created knitting patterns for socks, shawls, hats, scarves, wall hangings, sweaters and so much more. She dreams up a pattern, knits it and then Hillary photographs the finished product in a natural setting. The resulting image is a beautiful blend of nature and textile art with incredibly rich colours and textures that you can almost feel.
